It's one of these things that if I plan a city trip with a friend, we mostly choose to go to London, Berlin, Antwerpen... just because these cities are absolutely cool.

But somehow Budapest has always been in the back of my mind.
Last week I finally got round to visiting Budapest with a dear friend. And what a pleasant surprise that was! Pleasant surprise might not even cover it. We were amazed that we never really heard stories about Budapest and that it was only now that we were visiting.

Budapest just has it all. Amazing views and buildings and lots too see, cool food truck lanes and garden bars for summery nights out, nice independent shops, the best ice cream we've ever had (creamy salted caramel, such a good combo), all sorts of nice looking lemonades with yummie fruit to quench the thirst, the friendliest people, nice bike riding....
The weather was great, the apartment was comfy. We couldn't have asked for more.
And after lots of walking and even more walking around, the spa baths are a welcome treat.

So if you've never been to Budapest and are looking for a city that is not too big but still has it all.... Look no further! :)
